Marina Beach/San Lameer Blue Flag Beach.
A beautiful sandy beach with an adjacent tidal pool. The beach is located next to the San Lameer Montazur Hotel and Golf Resort on the southern KwaZulu-Natal coast. On the southern side, it is bordered by the Trafalgar Marine Nature Reserve and to the north, Mkobi beach on the southern end of Southbroom.
Marina beach is one of the many naturally unspoilt beaches on the Hibiscus Coast. Lifeguards are always in attendance and facilities are maintained to top-class standards throughout the year. Environmental education projects include: Public / Tourist awareness, formal schools education. Various schools in the region as well as schools in the rural areas will be targeted for visits to the beaches.
One can buy locally made goods from the traders who have trading space allocated adjacent to the beach. There is a small restaurant at the beach and plenty of parking. The beach is accessible for wheelchair users, there is designated parking and ablutions for use by those in wheelchairs.
Access to the beach is via the N2 highway south from Durban and by the R62 from Port Shepstone, Continue south to the end of the toll road going past the town of Margate and take the turning to the beach immediately after the turning to Southbroom south, which is clearly marked "Marina Beach”.
