Margate Beach

Margate Beach: Blue Flag Status

Margate beach is one of the most popular bathing beaches on the lower south coast of KwaZulu-Natal. With an number of adjacent restuarants, safe swimming pools and the recreational area in the estuary to the north of the swimming area, Margate offers holiday-makers a wonderful range of experiences. The beach is located in the heart of the town of Margate. The warm waters make swimming possible all year round. The beach can be very busy during the summer and Easter holidays. Top-class lifeguards are on duty throughout the year and environmental education programmes are run during the holiday seasons. One can hire beach umbrellas and shaded areas are available on the beach.
